Aspen Forest Apartment Homes is Energy Star-certified!
Our apartment community operates very differently than your regular apartment community. Here at Aspen Forest Apts, we do things differently, we ensure to do preventive maintenance in our apartments as well as in the community. We ensure our apartments are ready for summer by doing yearly cleaning maintenance in our AC units and replacing AC filters twice a month! This prevents our residents from having to experience an AC unit down during HOT TEXAS weather!
Here are some energy-saving tips for this summer!
OPERATE YOUR THERMOSTAT EFFICIENTLY
Avoid setting your thermostat at a colder setting than normal when you first turn on your air conditioner. It will not cool your home any faster and could result in excessive cooling and unnecessary expense.
Avoid turning off your air conditioner instead set your air conditioner to 78°F or higher, and lower the thermostat when you return home.
USE FANS AND VENTILATION STRATEGIES TO COOL YOUR HOME
Use fans instead of air conditioning when possible, and set ceiling fans to spin counterclockwise to circulate cool air. This means when you look at your fan blades should turn left! ----->
Turn off ceiling fans when you leave the room. Fans cool people, not rooms, by creating a wind chill effect!
When you shower or take a bath, use the bathroom fan to remove heat and humidity from your apartment
USE NATURAL LIGHT
Take advantage of natural light during the day, your apartment usually gets tons of natural light! and close blinds and drapes to keep out direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the day. You can also use thermal drapes or blackout curtains to keep the heat outside.
KEEP YOUR COOLING SYSTEM RUNNING EFFICIENTLY
Maximum energy affordability, schedule regular maintenance for your cooling equipment. - WE DO THIS EVERY YEAR BEFORE SUMMER!
Regularly cleaning and replacing AC filters is the quickest way to save energy while also cooling your home. Doing so can lower your air conditioner’s energy consumption by 5-15 percent. WE DO THIS EVERY OTHER MONTH!
