We have a private community park and walking trail but we are also located seconds from the pilot gully walking trail as well as the Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve. So whether you want just a quick walk or perhaps you want to spend the day in nature - you got lots of options :)
PILOT GULLY WALKING TRAIL
We are blessed to be located right next to the pilot gully walking trail, which is literally a 2-minute walk from our community entrance. The pilot gully walking trail will take you all the way to Louetta and Vintage Park!
Pilot Gully Walking Trail is between Charterwood Subdivision and Vintage Lakes. It is 2 miles long and is paved. The surrounding nature is manicured - so no rolling ankles or dodging branches. There are amenities like benches, trash cans, bike racks, and doggie waste stations. There is a crossover bridge on the north side but not on the south side. It is quite picturesque in the evening and quiet enjoyable!
KICKERILLO-MISCHER PRESERVE
The Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve is located about a 5-minute drive from Aspen Forest Apt Homes. This preserve is fairly new and remarkably cared for. This is one of my favorite places to go for a morning/evening run. Sunsets here are gorgeous.
Amenities include public restrooms (available right off the main parking lot), a paved track for running/cycling/skating, access to Marshall Lake for fishing/canoeing/other water activities, park benches, etc. The park’s location is great too! It’s right off of Highway 249 and just across the street from Vintage Park.
This is somewhere you can take the family and make a day of it!
